Jones Hargreaves’ Dan McShane plays in England v Wales charity rugby at Twickenham Stoop.

Jones Hargreaves’ very own Dan McShane was called upon to take to the field in the recent England v Wales charity rugby legends match at Twickenham Stoop.

The welsh team, captained by Colin Charvis and supported by Jonathan Davies and Scott Quinnell, also included Shane Williams, Sonny Parker, Hal Luscombe, Leigh Davies, Nathan Brew, Peter Rogers and Jamie Ringer. Dan took position in the engine room, putting in a shift.

The England team was managed by Jason Leonard and included players such as Mike Tindall, Iain ‘The Gas’ Balshaw and Lewis ‘Mad Dog’ Moody.

Although the England team eventually won the game 33-21, the real winners were the several charities to benefit from the event including the RFU Injured Players Foundation and WRPA Benevolent Fund.

Dan was delighted to take part in the game and despite the esteemed company, more than held his own with a deft of hand and turn of pace rarely seen from a lumbering lock (so he tells us). At the final whistle, Dan was heard to say "The relationship between the Welsh and the English is based on trust and understanding. They don't trust us and we don't understand them"…
